The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the community. From the one-by-one reveal of fresh additions before the game's release, to players forming firm views on the full lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.

With many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that emphasize their traits, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that inspire the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom comes across as always furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why the Ram far more similar to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected across this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised face like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s similar to the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a strategy.

Libra – Super Audino

Observe this sweet, sensitive creature, who employs the sensors on its ears to tell how others are emotionally by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and trying to keep the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them stress more about others.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad backstory: Discarded as a toy, it gained consciousness through sheer resentment and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can think of.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to foresee calamities in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often always believe they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Super Chandelure

Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting presence is also extremely Aquarius.
