The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
