Fighters smirk as they move on the bed of a utility vehicle, speeding alongside a row of several dead bodies and driving in the direction of the descending African evening sky.

"Observe this extensive work. Observe this mass destruction," one cheers.

He grins as he directs the recording device on his own face and his companion militiamen, their paramilitary identification on display: "These people shall all be killed like this."

The combatants are rejoicing over a mass killing that aid workers suspect resulted in the deaths of more than thousands of civilians in the Sudan's urban center of the Darfur city in recent weeks.

A City Severed from the Outside

After maintaining the community under encirclement for nearly 24 months, from late summer the paramilitary force advanced to reinforce its position and blockade the remaining civilian population.

Space-based imagery demonstrate that troops started to build a massive earth barrier - a built-up sand barrier - around the perimeter of el-Fasher, blocking roads and blocking humanitarian assistance.

While the blockade worsened, 78 individuals were murdered in an militia assault on a religious building on September 19th, while the international organization stated dozens further were killed in unmanned aircraft and artillery attacks on a makeshift community in fall.

Disturbing Video Shows Defenseless People Shot

At the same time, the militia and connected social media profiles began attempting to alter the account.

Updates showing its militiamen handing out assistance to residents were shared by various individuals, while the force's communications team shared several clips claiming to display the proper treatment of army captives.

Despite the online effort being deployed by the RSF, their actions in el-Fasher have sparked worldwide anger.
