Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's triumph, its talented actors also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers won 7 awards during the event.
Additional notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by experts.
