British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
